About Tom Stephenson
In 2000, Tom got a call from Jim, his brother in law (and now The Noisy Neighbors’ drummer). Jim sez, "Hey Tom, my neighbor and I have been jamming once a week and need a bass player… Can you come over?" It had been years since he played any music, and it was a chance to learn a new instrument. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Several years later he’s a founding member and the bottom line for what has evolved into The Noisy Neighbors. Worse yet, he’s learned to be a gear junkie!

Tom’s current gear is a Fender Jazz bass refitted with a Badass II bridge, and Seymor Duncan Basslines SJB-3 Quarter Pounder pickups and DiAddario Chromes flatwound strings. His "little stage amp" is an SWR 350X driving Ampeg 4X10 and 1X15 cabinets. You have to do something to drown out the guitars! In addition to the bass, he adds backup vocals and occasionally steps up to the mic for the lead on a few songs.

He also gets to fulfill his lifelong fantasy of being a radio announcer when the gig calls for an emcee. He’s the one that gets to announce the bride and groom, call the attendees to dinner, or run the costume contest.

In his "other life" he’s married with two kids that both play at least two instruments. He works for a progressive aerospace machine shop, loves boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, and camping. He prefers a middle-of-the-road mix of music, tuning his radio to KMTT or KZOK.
